Who needs to have lab work done? Most individuals that have been under stress for long periods of time or had reoccurring health problems over the years, should have lab work. In addition people that lab work is helpful for want to take a preventative approach to their health and find out what areas need to be addressed.
What are some basic lab tests to start with? A good place to start is with the three following tests: 1) Metabolic Assessment Profile a) This profile is an effective screen for liver and gut problems, and oxidative stress in the body. It measures the body's levels of lipid peroxides, sulfate, and indican. 2) Adrenal Stress Profile a) This profile is an effective screen for the adrenals to see how well they are adapting the stress in your life. It measures your levels of cortisol and DHEA. 3) Blood Chemistry Profile a) This profile provides a comprehensive assessment of the body's blood chemistry to determine if there are any acute or chronic conditions and to rule out any pathologies.
